Job Description

Join our Tissue Culture team and become part of the process that helps produce healthy plants from their earliest stages. We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Media Prep Helper to prepare and organize the growing media used in our plant laboratory. This is a hands-on, entry-level position that involves measuring and mixing ingredients according to established recipes, preparing containers, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. No previous laboratory or tissue culture experience is required. We will provide the training needed to perform the job successfully. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with plants, following step-by-step instructions, staying organized, and being part of a production team. Responsibilities Prepare tissue culture growing media from scratch according to established recipes and instructions. Accurately measure and weigh ingredients used in media preparation. Mix ingredients in the correct quantities and sequence. Prepare, fill, and organize containers used for tissue culture plants. Follow established procedures for preparing different types and batches of media. Maintain accurate measurements and consistency between batches. Properly label prepared media and containers. Keep the media preparation area, equipment, tools, and work surfaces clean and organized. Wash, sanitize, and prepare materials and equipment as required. Follow sanitation and contamination-control procedures. Monitor supplies and notify the supervisor when ingredients or materials are running low. Follow all company safety procedures and department instructions. Assist with other Tissue Culture department duties as needed. Qualifications Ability to accurately measure, weigh, and mix ingredients. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and written instructions. Basic math skills, including measurements and quantities. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and consistency. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment. Dependable and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Previous laboratory, nursery, production, food preparation, or mixing experience is helpful but not required. Tissue culture experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements. Ability to bend, reach, and move around the work area throughout the shift. Ability to lift and move containers, ingredients, and supplies as required.
Pay:
$16.00 per hour
