Job Description

Deli Staff The Prepared Foods Department is hiring for a full-time Deli Staff position (35 to 40 hours per week). This position contributes to the preparation of high-quality food with a focus on Hot Bar and the Deli's Grab & Go case. Commercial kitchen experience is strongly preferred.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Ensure all customers are given the highest possible level of customer service. Cross train with other employees to assure knowledge and support for department operations and best service

FOOD PREPARATION

Prepare daily offerings (entrees, salads, sandwiches, etc.) following specifications of recipes. Keep the Hot Bar and Grab & Go case full and abundant throughout shift by preparing items as needed.

DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE

Keep displays fully stocked, rotated and fronted for maximum freshness, abundance, and visual appeal. Maintain accurate, up to date price, ingredient and date labeling of items Maintain kitchen, walk-in and storage areas in sanitary and orderly condition, following guidelines set by Manager. Receive deliveries in accordance with department and store policies Communicate purchasing needs to appropriate staff in a timely manner in order to prevent out of stocks Share utility duties with coworkers as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in cooking for deli, restaurant or catering operations. Organized, attention to detail, delegation abilities. Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs and carry items up and down stairs. Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment. Regular, predictable attendance and adherence to schedule. Positive attitude and flexibility working with a team. Willingness to step outside of your position and do what may be needed of you. Willingness and ability to meet the changing requirements of the position.

High school or equivalent (Preferred) This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Prepared Foods Manager.
