We're looking for a Spanish-English bilingual Kitchen Assistant to help prepare healthy meals and snacks for children ages 0-5 and support a welcoming, family-centered environment. Position Details Schedule:
12 hours per week (0.3 FTE)

Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Maintain food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization, including cleaning, storage, labeling, and temperature monitoring. Receive and store food deliveries and help maintain inventory, records, meal counts, and USDA reporting requirements. Support laundry and other operational tasks that help the program run smoothly. Are fluent in Spanish and English. Enjoy working behind the scenes to support children and families. Take pride in keeping spaces clean, organized, and safe. Work well as part of a team. Are dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented. Can manage multiple tasks in a busy environment. Value treating children, families, and coworkers with respect and compassion. Qualifications Required Spanish-English bilingual skills. At least 6 months of food service work or volunteer experience, preferably in an early learning, school, or family services setting. Knowledge of safe food preparation, storage, and sanitation practices. Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations. Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Valid Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain one before hire. Ability to pass a criminal background check through the Department of Early Learning and Care's Central Background Registry. Preferred Experience in an early learning, school, or family services setting. Knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Program requirements, meal count reporting, food ordering procedures, and computer-based recordkeeping systems. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or walk for most of the workday, reach overhead and below shoulder level, perform repetitive food preparation and cleaning tasks, and regularly lift and move boxes, supplies, carts, or kitchen equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
