Job Summary:

Under the direction of a certified swim instructor or teacher, the Swim Aide supports the instruction of basic swimming techniques and water safety skills. This position assists with supervising students in and around the pool, preparing equipment, demonstrating techniques, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all participants. The Swim Aide plays a key role in helping students develop confidence and competence in the water through guided practice and encouragement.

Education Support Staff Association (ESSA) Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position): High school diploma or equivalent. Current certification in Lifeguarding, Standard First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPR-PR), and AED, as recognized by the American Red Cross or an equivalent agency. Strong swimming skills and comfort working in and around water. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and positively with children.
