POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking qualified Lifeguards and Head Lifeguards to ensure the safety and supervision of all guests in and around the pool area. Candidates must possess strong safety awareness, excellent judgment, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment.

REPORTS TO
Pool Operations Manager
PAY RANGE
$17/hour - $23/hour (based on experience)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Arrive 15 minutes early in full lifeguard uniform: shirt, suit, whistle, fanny pack, flip flops, and shorts. Follow the rotation schedule and ensure all safety protocols are enforced. Supervise pool areas actively; remain rescue-ready at all times with a walkie-talkie. Maintain constant surveillance and never leave the pool unattended while in use. Conduct daily safety and chemical checks and log all required information. Enforce rules regarding supervision, safety, and sanitation. Write and file incident/accident reports when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 15 years of age or older (Valid CT Working Papers required for minors) Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification required CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification required Must be willing to work evenings and weekends Strong communication and emergency response skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift/carry/swim with objects weighing 50+ lbs Physically capable of performing rescues and standing/walking for long periods Reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals
SALARY/BENEFITS
Salary is competitive dependent upon experience. YMCA provides an Individual Membership to all Part-Time staff. I understand and agree to perform all duties listed above. In order to enhance the overall operation of the YMCA of Greenwich and to support teamwork, I will accept additional responsibilities as assigned.
