Job Description

Lifeguard and/or teach swimming lessons! Great job for those looking for part-time work (retirees, stay-at-home parents, college and high school students). Looking for outgoing and enthusiastic individuals who are able to swim front crawl and breaststroke proficiently.

Requirements:

Must be able to pass a background check Be at least 15 years of age Must be able to swim 150 yards of freestyle tread water or float for 2 minutes and then swim 50 more yards of freestyle Must be confident when enforcing rules with customers Competitive swimming background a plus

Job Types:

Part-time & sub positions (Flexible schedules. Most shifts are short morning shifts and on weekends. Some afternoon positions available.) The current shifts that will be open include:

Monday:

2 Lifeguards 3:45-7pm

Tuesday:

1 Lifeguard 3:45-7pm

Wednesday:

2 Lifeguards 3:45-7:15pm

Thursday:

2 Lifeguards 3:45-7pm

Friday:

1 Lifeguard 3:45-8pm

Saturday:

2 Lifeguards 8:45am-1:30pm, 2 Lifeguards 1:30-6pm

Sunday:

1 Lifeguard 8:45am - 1pm, 1 Lifeguard/ Instructor 8:45am-1pm 1 Lifeguard 1-5:15pm 1 Lifeguard/ Instructor 1-5:15pm Schedules can be supplemented with private lessons in addition to that shift. Currently there is a waitlist for those looking for private lessons. As well as the ability to pick up sub shifts.

Preferred License:

Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or similar certifying organization (Will train and certify) Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (willing to train to teach)

Benefits:

Certification if not already certified, yearly certification updates, advanced certifications Privileges to use the workout areas if working 12+ hours per week OR teaching at least 3 swimming lessons per week. On the job training and opportunities for advancement. Pay $13.73 - $15 per hour $12.50 a half hour when teaching
