RAPRD is currently hiring for opening, daytime, closing and weekend Lifeguard and Swim Instructors. Lifeguards/Swim lesson Instructors ensure the safety of patrons of RAPRD Aquatic facilities by preventing and responding to emergencies. We are hiring 3 - 4 part time positions.
This position is responsible for:
Ensure the safety of swimmers and other patrons by monitoring the pool area and enforcing pool rules and regulations
Follow established rotation schedules
Maintain surveillance of patrons in the facility (even when off deck)
Provide first aid and CPR in case of emergencies and contact emergency services as needed
Appropriately enforce pool rules and regulations carefully and consistently
Conduct routine checks of the pool, including the water quality, temperature, and equipment, to ensure a safe and clean swimming environment.
Assist with opening the pool in the morning, including removing pool covers, setting up deck chairs, and cleaning the pool deck and surrounding areas (if scheduled to open)
Assist with closing the pool at the end of the day, including covering the pool, cleaning the pool deck, lobby, locker rooms, and surrounding areas (if scheduled to close)
Instructs swim lessons consistent with RAPRD standards Lifeguards must have a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
RAPRD has a certification class scheduled for Sept. 1 - 5, 2026 and we encourage those who are interested in becoming a lifeguard in the future to register for a class. RAPRD will reimburse the class fee for individuals who we hire within 90 days of successful completion of a certification class offered by RAPRD.

Starting Wage:
$15.75-16.25 per hour (DOE)
