Job Description
RAPRD is currently hiring for opening, daytime, closing and weekend Lifeguard and Swim Instructors. Lifeguards/Swim lesson Instructors ensure the safety of patrons of RAPRD Aquatic facilities by preventing and responding to emergencies. We are hiring 3 - 4 part time positions.
This position is responsible for:
- Ensure the safety of swimmers and other patrons by monitoring the pool area and enforcing pool rules and regulations
- Follow established rotation schedules
- Maintain surveillance of patrons in the facility (even when off deck)
- Provide first aid and CPR in case of emergencies and contact emergency services as needed
- Appropriately enforce pool rules and regulations carefully and consistently
- Conduct routine checks of the pool, including the water quality, temperature, and equipment, to ensure a safe and clean swimming environment.
- Assist with opening the pool in the morning, including removing pool covers, setting up deck chairs, and cleaning the pool deck and surrounding areas (if scheduled to open)
- Assist with closing the pool at the end of the day, including covering the pool, cleaning the pool deck, lobby, locker rooms, and surrounding areas (if scheduled to close)
- Instructs swim lessons consistent with RAPRD standards Lifeguards must have a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
