Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitizing:

Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, common areas, offices, and other designated areas using approved cleaning agents and equipment. Adhere to infection control protocols and standards to prevent the spread of germs and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and fixtures, following established procedures.

Safety and Security:

Report any safety hazards, malfunctioning equipment, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel promptly.

Confidentiality and Professionalism:

Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information, respecting privacy rights and following HIPAA regulations. Interact professionally and respectfully with patients, families, visitors, and staff members, fostering a positive and supportive environment.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with other hospital departments, including nursing and environmental services, to coordinate cleaning schedules and prioritize areas needing attention.

Requirements:

Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or mental health setting. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, infection control practices, and use of cleaning equipment and chemicals. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, or pull heavy objects and equipment as needed.
