Posting Details This posting will be used to conduct ongoing recruitment and will remain open until position has been filled. Why does the job exist? This position will assist in supervising the day-to day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations to assure that our facility is maintained ins a clean, safe, and sanitary manner, and that an adequate supply of laundry/linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents. How does it get done? Supervise personnel which includes recommendations for hiring, termination, performance evaluation, training, also includes mandatory facility training, work allocation, and problem resolution in accordance with established depart policies and procedures. Trains employees on laundry process and machinery techniques, methods and procedures. Maintains adequate staffing at all times; organizes workload to ensure deadlines are met; schedules work assignments in order of priority Maintains records on employees, machinery, and maintenance activities. Manages the laundry activities while ensuring customer satisfaction. Main an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department. Who are the customers? Residents at a long-term care facility. Ideal Candidate Residents at a long-term care facility. Minimum Qualification No prior experience or training required. Employment Requirements Employment is subject to nationwide criminal background check pursuant to New Mexico Caregivers Criminal Screening Act (Section 29-17-2 through 29-17-5 NMSA 1978 and 7.1.9.1 through 7.1.9.11 NMAC) and is conditional pending results. Will be screened for tuberculosis (TB) upon hire. Working Conditions Work may be in an office and/or institutional setting. Work environment involves exposure to infectious disease, chemicals, hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet. Position may be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays. State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
