Full-Time Family Housekeeper / Household Assistant Private Family Residence - Oyster Bay, Long Island, NY We are a busy, warm, family-oriented household seeking an experienced, trustworthy, and highly dependable Full-Time Housekeeper / Household Assistant to join our family for a long-term position. We have three school-aged children (12, 10, and 9) and are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in maintaining a beautiful, clean, organized, and welcoming home. This is not simply a cleaning position. We are looking for someone who will take ownership of the household, anticipate what needs to be done, and become a trusted and valued part of our family's daily life. The right person will be proactive, hardworking, organized, responsible, trustworthy, and caring . Our hope is to find someone who wants to stay with our family for many years and eventually feel like an extended member of our family. Primary Responsibilities Daily cleaning and general upkeep of the home Deep cleaning as needed Laundry, folding, ironing/steaming, and putting clothing away Changing and maintaining bed linens and towels Maintaining organized closets, drawers, pantry, kitchen, and household storage Keeping children's bedrooms and common areas clean and organized Preparing healthy, home-cooked family meals Meal planning and food preparation Maintaining an organized refrigerator and pantry Monitoring and restocking household supplies Grocery shopping and household errands as needed Helping maintain an orderly, comfortable, and welcoming home Occasionally assisting with children's household needs Communicating proactively with the family regarding household needs What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate is someone who: Has prior professional housekeeping experience, preferably in a private family residence Is extremely trustworthy and honest Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in their work Is proactive and notices what needs to be done without constantly being asked Is organized and detail-oriented Is dependable, punctual, and responsible Takes ownership and accountability for their responsibilities Enjoys cooking and is comfortable preparing family meals Communicates clearly and comfortably in English Is friendly, warm, patient, and compassionate around children Respects the family's privacy and confidentiality Has a positive attitude and willingness to help Is looking for a stable, long-term position with one family Bilingual English/Spanish or English Most Important to Our Family Trust, reliability, communication, initiative, and attitude are extremely important to us. We are looking for someone who doesn't need to be given a checklist every morning. We want someone who can walk into the home, recognize what needs attention, prioritize their day, and take pride in getting things done. If something goes wrong, we expect open and honest communication. If something needs attention, we appreciate someone who brings it to us rather than waiting to be asked. Our Children We have three children, ages 12, 10, and 9 . While this is primarily a housekeeping and household position rather than a nanny position, our housekeeper will naturally interact with our children. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being around children and is kind, loving, patient, friendly, and compassionate while maintaining appropriate boundaries and respecting the parents' direction.
