Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Worker to join our dedicated environmental services team. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms in accordance with healthcare or facility protocols. Use proper chemical handling procedures to safely manage cleaning agents and disinfectants in compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards. Follow strict sanitation procedures to prevent healthcare-associated infections and ensure environmental safety standards are met. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, steam cleaners, and mops efficiently while adhering to safe lifting practices for heavy or bulky items. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, and sanitation schedules to support compliance audits. Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to manual handling, chemical agent handling, and infection prevention measures. Respond promptly to special cleaning requests or emergency sanitation needs from staff or management. Support overall janitorial functions including trash removal, restocking supplies, and maintaining storage areas in an organized manner. Qualifications Prior experience in housekeeping or commercial cleaning is highly preferred. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling and workplace safety practices. Familiarity with hospital or healthcare infection prevention and control protocols. Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Strong understanding of sanitation standards for healthcare or commercial environments. Physical capability for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward teamwork and communication. Certification in environmental services or janitorial training is a plus but not required.
