Job Description

POST-HARVEST & PRE-PACK TECHNICIANPOSITION SUMMARY
The Post-Harvest & Pre-Pack Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently performing post-harvest and packaging activities related to medical marijuana production. This position may perform harvesting, bucking, trimming, weighing, machine and hand filling, packaging, labeling, and other product-handling duties within the facility. The Post-Harvest & Pre-Pack Technician is expected to work efficiently while maintaining established quality, sanitation, compliance, and production standards. Employees in this position must follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain accurate product and batch separation, and comply with all applicable rules and regulations. This role requires a strong teamwork orientation, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to assist in different areas of production based on operational needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs post-harvest activities including harvesting, bucking, trimming, weighing, and handling plant material. Properly separates flower, leaf, stems, waste, and other plant material according to the assigned harvest batch. Collects, weighs, records, and handles plant material and waste as required for accurate inventory and regulatory tracking. Maintains product traceability by ensuring plant material remains with the appropriate harvest batch, METRC plant tag, UIN, or other required identifying information. Performs machine and hand packaging of medical marijuana into approved jars, bags, or other containers. Operates packaging equipment and production lines safely and efficiently. Weighs medical marijuana, kief, and other plant material as required. Performs quality assurance checks throughout post-harvest and packaging processes, including inspecting plant material and finished products for quality and accuracy. Ensures packaging and storage containers are clean, intact, and free from defects or contamination. Ensures labels are neat, accurate, and legible and verifies applicable UINs, batch numbers, strains, quantities, and other required information. Verifies counts and product information before items are submitted for Quality Control or moved to the next stage of production. Immediately reports quality concerns, discrepancies, equipment issues, or deviations from established standards to management. Cleans and sanitizes tools, equipment, packaging areas, workstations, and other assigned areas. Maintains an organized work area and follows established waste disposal and sanitation procedures. Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follows personal hygiene and contamination-prevention standards. Works as part of a team to meet production goals while maintaining quality and compliance standards. Assists other departments and production areas as needed, including cleaning, trimming, bucking, harvesting, packaging, and other cultivation-related activities. Follows all company SOPs, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures. Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and efficiently. Ability to work in a diverse environment with individuals from various cultures, backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable confidentiality requirements. Ability to successfully complete required background screening. Must comply with applicable Arkansas medical marijuana regulations and guidelines. Preferred Qualifications Six months or more of experience working with medical marijuana. One to three years of experience in a regulated production, cultivation, manufacturing, or packaging environment. Basic knowledge of cannabis plant structure and post-harvest processes. Previous experience with packaging equipment, production lines, or regulated inventory tracking.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods. Ability to perform repetitive hand and manual labor tasks for extended periods. Sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to perform trimming, packaging, labeling, weighing, and related duties. Ability to visually inspect plant material and finished products for deviations from established quality standards. Ability to bend, reach, crouch, and work in various positions as required.
