AgriAmerica LLC is a commercial grower and processor of grapes. With several vineyard locations across northern Chautauqua County and a grape juice factory located in Fredonia NY, the Company provides a productive, pleasant and respectful work atmosphere where all team members are treated like family. Seasonal hired associates are often hired on a full-time, permanent basis and become eligible for benefits after the season is completed. Regardless of whether you are highly experienced or entry level, if you have a desire for daily adventure and enjoy hands-on work with a variety of tools and machinery out on the farm or within an industrial food processing facility, AgriAmerica is the place to be! Newly hired seasonal associates are eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus after the harvest season is completed with acceptable attendance and performance.
Position Summary:
The Seasonal Production Floor Lead drives efficiency and morale on the factory floor during the peak grape crush season. This role bridges the gap between frontline workers and upper management. You will walk the floor to monitor machinery, ensure stations are staffed, and keep production moving. This is a non-supervisory leadership role focused on oversight, safety, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all processing stations are actively staffed. Monitor the movement of grapes from intake to processing. Maintain a positive, high-energy environment during demanding shifts. Brief the incoming lead on daily targets and issues. Walk the floor constantly to check machinery operations. Spot and report equipment issues to maintenance immediately. Ensure team members wear PPE and follow safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across the floor. Provide regular updates to the Plant Superintendent. Alert management immediately regarding bottlenecks or conflicts. Answer worker questions and clarify daily production goals. Complete other duties as requested by management
Qualifications:
Experience in food processing, manufacturing, or agriculture required Prior winery or grape processing experience is a plus Ability to maintain clear, legible handwritten records and follow detailed documentation procedures Proven ability to guide teams Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to lead small teams and manage fast-paced operations
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in cold, hot, dusty, and wet conditions. Able to sit, stand, and operate machinery for extended periods.
Seasonal Duration:
Early-September to Mid-November Average 40-50 hours per week 5 to 6 day work week 12 hour day and night shifts
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
