Job Description

Company Overview Specialty Transportation has been dedicated to providing exceptional special education transportation services since 1993. With a focus on student safety and comfort, we operate a fleet of over 300 vehicles across multiple locations, maintaining a commitment to personalized service and attention to detail. Overview We are seeking a motivated and attentive Bus Monitor to join our team. In this vital role, you will ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of students during transportation. Your proactive approach will help create a secure environment for children with diverse needs while adhering to school policies and safety regulations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on students' daily lives. Responsibilities Supervise students during bus transportation, ensuring their safety and proper behavior throughout the trip Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, providing support for those with physical disabilities or special needs Enforce school policies and transportation safety regulations consistently and professionally Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and emergency responders as needed Manage behavior and discipline issues using conflict management and behavior management techniques tailored for students with special education needs Support emergency procedures including evacuation drills and first aid response when necessary Maintain confidentiality of student information while documenting incidents or concerns accurately Qualifications Experience working with children, especially those with disabilities or special education needs Knowledge of school policies, safety regulations, and transportation procedures Strong communication skills for parent communication and team collaboration Ability to handle conflict management situations calmly and effectively Experience in behavior management for students with behavioral challenges or special needs preferred Physical ability to assist students during boarding, exiting, or emergency situations Join us in creating a safe, supportive environment that fosters positive experiences for every student. Pay:
$22.00 - $23.00 per hour
