Valley Bus is hiring School Bus Paras in Grand Forks to support students on special needs and early childhood bus routes. Now is a great time to join our team. If you're patient, dependable, caring, and enjoy working with kids, this could be the perfect fit. As a School Bus Para, you're more than just an extra set of hands. You help students feel safe, supported, and ready for their school day . What We Offer Starting pay of $19.00 per hour with yearly raises Meaningful work that makes a difference for students and families Small student groups — typically just 5-12 students per bus Part-time hours — approximately 15-17 hours per week Weekends off — work Monday through Friday on school days Morning and afternoon shifts that leave the middle of your day open A supportive team focused on safety, respect, and communication What You'll Do Ride on smaller school buses with special needs and early childhood students Help students safely get on and off the bus Make sure students are properly secured with seat belts, harnesses, or car seats Assist students who use wheelchairs as needed alongside the driver Help maintain a calm, positive, and supportive environment on the bus Work closely with your driver to keep each route safe and running smoothly What We're Looking For You don't need to be a teacher or have years of experience working with children. We're looking for people who are: Patient, caring, and understanding Dependable and ready to show up for their students each day Comfortable helping with basic physical tasks Good communicators and team players Able to pass required background and drug screenings A Great Fit for Your Schedule This position is especially well suited for retirees, parents, college students, or anyone looking for rewarding part-time work without giving up their entire day.
