Sports Staff will work closely with the Sports Director to help provide a safe, positive, and enjoyable sports experience for all participants. Grandview YMCA sports programs include soccer, volleyball, basketball, football, and cheer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Sports Director with the daily operation of YMCA sports programs. Set up and take down equipment, fields, courts, and other areas needed for practices and games. Help oversee practices, games, and other sports activities. Provide supervision and maintain a safe and positive environment for participants. Assist coaches, players, and families as needed. Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Fill in for coaches and lead practices when necessary. Help ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained and returned to their designated areas. Communicate effectively with the Sports Director regarding practices, games, participants, and any concerns that arise. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by the Sports Director. Qualifications Previous experience playing, coaching, or working with youth sports is preferred. Ability to work effectively with children and families. Dependable, responsible, and able to work as part of a team. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to safely set up, move, and put away sports equipment. Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends as sports schedules require. CPR Certification must be obtained within first 30 days. Ideal Candidate The ideal Sports Staff member is enthusiastic about youth sports, enjoys working with children, is dependable, and is willing to step in wherever needed to support the success of the Grandview YMCA sports program.
