ACTIVITY AIDE

- Part Time Requires working the day shift, afternoon shift or weekends as designated by the facility. (Shifts may vary by department and position)

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

At least one-years experience in a nursing facility, a long-term care setting or a recreational/arts/crafts program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The following job functions are all essential job function as defined by the ADAAA. Responsible for understanding and consistently following the principles of the Happy to Oblige (H to O) program. Lead group activities as directed, assist in planning. Visit with residents providing sensory stimulation and reality orientation. Report to activity coordinator on resident's responses and/or progress to specific approaches utilized. Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment. May be responsible for general housekeeping duties in activity areas. Assist in transporting residents. Attend in-service training and continuing education workshops. Recognize abnormal Signs and symptoms which may signify a physical change in condition which could require nursing intervention. Constantly be on the alert for conditions interfering with the safety and well-being of residents involved in activity programs.
