Job Description

An Activity Assistant supports the planning, organization, and implementation of recreational, social, educational, and wellness activities for residents in nursing homes, and assisted living. The goal is to enhance participants' quality of life, encourage social engagement, and promote physical and emotional well-being. Key Responsibilities Assist in planning and conducting daily activities, events, and outings. Encourage resident or participant involvement in scheduled programs. Set up and clean up activity areas and supplies before and after events. Provide one-on-one engagement for individuals who cannot participate in group activities. Escort residents or participants to and from activity locations as needed. Assist with decorating for holidays, special events, and community celebrations. Maintain accurate attendance and activity participation records. Observe and report changes in participants' physical, emotional, or social well-being to supervisors. Support volunteers and family members participating in programs. Ensure activities are conducted in a safe and inclusive environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or community groups is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic attitude. Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and communication. Ability to lift, move, and transport activity supplies as needed. Ability to assist participants during activities and outings. Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds, depending on facility requirements. Pay:
$14.00 - $15.00 per hour
