Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as an Activities Assistant and become a vital part of enriching residents' lives through engaging, meaningful activities. In this role, you will coordinate and facilitate a variety of recreational programs designed to promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a lively, supportive environment where residents feel valued, connected, and empowered to enjoy each day to the fullest. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead diverse recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, games, music therapy, and outings Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring their comfort and safety during participation Collaborate with care teams to develop personalized activity plans that support cognitive function and emotional well-being Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced calendar of events that encourages participation from all residents Provide companionship and social support to residents, fostering a warm and inclusive community atmosphere Monitor residents' responses to activities, adjusting plans as needed to maximize engagement and enjoyment Document participation levels, resident feedback, and progress reports for care planning purposes Experience Prior experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living, nursing homes, or memory care environments preferred but not required Hands-on experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities in long-term or home & community care settings Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and aging issues counseling is highly desirable but not required Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Experience assisting with ADLs such as mobility support, dressing, or personal hygiene is a plus but not required Familiarity with schedule management and organizing group activities in a caregiving or senior care context preferred but not required Background in social work or caregiving roles that involve working closely with individuals facing cognitive or physical challenges but not required This role is designed for energetic individuals passionate about enhancing quality of life through creative engagement. Pay:
$15.45 - $18.25 per hour
