POSITION SUMMARY

The Resident Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing and implementing a program of therapeutic activities designed to meet the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs and interests of residents.

Essential Functions Statement(s) Assists in the development/delivery of therapeutic recreational services to promote the residents' opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels Maintains precautions/limitation list on each resident Encourages resident participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts. intellectual/educational, community/center service and recreational activities, etc. Implements activity programs Maintains confidentiality of necessary information Handles unusual occurrences calmly and logically to maintain continuity of business and duties Maintains appropriate, effective communication with residents, or other significant relationships Participates in relevant educational and training activities
