Minimum Starting Salary:

The Dewey Community Center is looking for an enthusiastic part-time Recreation Aide to join our team! In this role, you will play a vital part in providing and promoting a variety of recreational activities and events for our residents. Your responsibilities will include setting up recreation and afterschool care sites, maintaining equipment and facilities in safe, clean conditions, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all participants. Job Summary Under close supervision, assists in the delivery of City recreation programs and events

Qualifications Required:

High School diploma or GED Valid Texas Driver's License Depending on the needs of the recreation center assigned to, it may require bilingual testing and certification.

Preferred:

Childcare or recreation programs experience Essential Functions Provides and promotes recreation activities and events for City residents; sets up recreation sites and facilities for events and scheduled programs; maintains equipment and facilities in clean and safe condition; duties may vary according to job assignment. Organizes recreation and childcare activities, oversees program participants and maintains discipline; monitors behavior and resolves issues; enforces rules, regulations and safety precautions at indoor and outdoor facilities. Develops promotional media for events and special programs; tutors' youth and assists with schoolwork. Reports and resolves complaints, requests, safety conditions, security issues and illegal activities. Operates a City vehicle to transport program participants to and from community events or recreational activities.
