Forty Barrels Coffee + Cuisine is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to lead daily operations at our coffeehouse/restaurant and help create an exceptional experience for every guest. About Forty Barrels We're a coffeehouse by day and cozy dinner and drink spot by night in Osage City, Kansas. We used to be known as Henry's Coffee House, but are expanding our operations as we move into our new home in the restored historic Star Block building. About the Role As Assistant Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of operations—from team leadership and customer service to inventory, scheduling, and financial performance. You'll set the tone for a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring efficiency and consistency. Key Responsibilities Help lead, train, and inspire a team of baristas, servers, and kitchen staff Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve guest concerns Help manage scheduling, labor costs, and daily operations Maintain high standards for quality food and drinks Help ensure cleanliness and compliance with health, safety and liquor license requirements Help oversee inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships Help monitor financial performance and meet sales goals Qualifications Management experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Passion for coffee, food, and guest experience Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment Flexible availability, including some weekends and holidays What We Offer Competitive pay + performance incentives Opportunities to shape our business as we get off the ground in our new location A creative, collaborative, community-focused work environment Employee discounts and perks If you're ready to help lead a dynamic team and help shape a memorable guest experience, we'd love to hear from you.
