Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our food services team with energy and dedication at our camp and retreat center. This role takes charge of the kitchen in the absence of the Chef & Manager of Food Services, making sure that all dishes are prepared correctly and that meals get to guests and campers in a timely manner. The Kitchen Supervisor helps develop recipes and prepare food in collaboration with the Chef and other cooks in the kitchen. Position Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and planning of meals. Ensure that kitchen activities and plans facilitate timely planning and have oversight for overall kitchen production. Monitor and record inventory and prepare orders. Provide training and support to kitchen cooks regarding food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation. Manage the kitchen team in the Chef's absence. Check the quality food products to ensure that health and safety standards are met, and monitor sanitation practices and equipment to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations Order food and supplies as needed Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays Professional Expectations and Qualifications 1. Maintain a current ServSafe certification 2. Two to three years of experience in a kitchen leadership role 3. Four to five years of kitchen production experience 4. Understanding of batch cooking 5. Comfortable with a variety of working hours (days, evenings, weekends)
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
