Seabrook & Portsmouth, NH Full-Time | Salaried $52,000-$60,000/year, based on experience Tostimo's Pizza Kitchen isn't your typical pizza shop. We're a family-owned restaurant led by a classically trained chef , built around bringing the standards, techniques, and attention to detail of a full-service kitchen into a more casual concept. We make much of what we serve in-house — from hand-breaded chicken and slow-roasted beef to sauces, specialty pizzas, and rotating chef-driven specials. For someone coming from a more traditional restaurant background, this is an opportunity to bring real kitchen experience into a concept that's trying to raise the bar for what a pizza restaurant can be.
THE POSITION
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Kitchen Manager who gets excited about that approach and wants to help us continue raising the bar. This is a working kitchen manager position. You will be on the line every shift, working a station while leading the kitchen team around you. Management responsibilities like inventory, ordering, prep planning, training, and other administrative tasks are handled around service and during slower periods. The majority of this job is spent working in the kitchen, not in an office. This position supports both Tostimo's locations in Seabrook and Portsmouth NH based on operational needs, with Seabrook serving as the primary home base. Candidates should be comfortable working at either our Seabrook or Portsmouth location when needed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Work a station on the line every shift while leading the kitchen team Run service and keep the kitchen organized, moving, and communicating Set the pace and lead by example during busy shifts Hold the team accountable for food quality, consistency, ticket times, cleanliness, and prep Train, coach, and develop cooks and kitchen staff Make sure prep levels, pars, food rotation, and station organization are where they need to be Maintain food safety and sanitation standards Assist with inventory, ordering, food cost, and waste control Take ownership of kitchen issues and make confident decisions during service Communicate with ownership and other managers about staffing and operational needs Provide leadership and coverage between our Seabrook and Portsmouth locations as needed
WHO YOU ARE
We need someone who is a strong cook AND a strong leader. You should be comfortable taking ownership of a busy kitchen while still working right alongside your team.
You should have:
Strong professional line-cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant Experience working multiple stations, with grill experience strongly preferred Previous kitchen leadership experience The ability to lead a team while simultaneously working your own station Strong communication and organization The confidence to give direction and hold staff accountable A sense of urgency and the ability to stay calm under pressure High standards for food quality, cleanliness, and consistency Reliability and a team-first mentality Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, Assistant Kitchen Manager, Lead Line Cook, or similar kitchen leadership role is strongly preferred.
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time salaried management position, approximately 40-45 hours most weeks . Nights and weekends are required, with additional flexibility needed during busy periods, staffing changes, holidays, and other operational needs.
