We are seeking an experienced and hospitality-minded Bar Manager to lead our beverage operations and help create a warm, polished, and memorable experience for our members. The Opportunity The Bar Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the club's bar and beverage service, while leading a team committed to delivering outstanding hospitality. This individual will serve as both a leader and a hands-on presence behind the bar, developing strong relationships with members and ensuring consistently high standards of service. The ideal candidate is confident, personable, organized, and passionate about hospitality. They understand that working in a private club is about more than serving beverages—it is about knowing members, anticipating their needs, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and representing the club with professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities Lead Bar Operations:

Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring efficient service, appropriate staffing, cleanliness, organization, and adherence to club standards.

Deliver Exceptional Member Service:

Build genuine relationships with members and guests while providing attentive, personalized, and professional service. Lead & Develop the

Team:

Train, mentor, schedule, and support bartending and beverage-service staff while establishing clear expectations for service and professionalism. Manage the

Beverage Program:

Maintain an appealing and well-rounded selection of spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Help develop seasonal offerings, signature cocktails, and beverage specials appropriate for the club.

Maintain Quality & Consistency:

Ensure beverages are prepared and presented consistently, inventory is properly managed, and the bar is maintained to a high standard.

Inventory & Cost Control:

Monitor beverage inventory, ordering, receiving, storage, waste, and product usage while working to maintain appropriate costs and minimize loss. Create a

Welcoming Club Environment:

Contribute to a relaxed, enjoyable, and sophisticated atmosphere that reflects the character and traditions of Western Racquet Club.

Support Club Events:

Work closely with club leadership and other departments to provide exceptional beverage service for tournaments, social events, private functions, and member gatherings.

Ensure Responsible Service:

Follow all applicable liquor laws, club policies, and responsible alcohol-service practices while maintaining a safe environment for members, guests, and staff. Collaborate Across the

Club:

Partner with management, culinary, service, and event teams to ensure a seamless overall member experience.

Uphold Club Standards:

Represent Western Racquet Club professionally and maintain appropriate discretion when interacting with members and guests. Preferred Qualifications Previous bartending, beverage-management, restaurant, hotel, country club, or private club experience. Prior supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, cocktails, and current beverage trends. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for hospitality. Ability to build lasting relationships with members and provide personalized service. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on and approachable. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism. Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and applicable Wisconsin regulations. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and during club events.
