SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for directing the shift operations; maintaining quality production output for designated shift.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs activities of set up person. Ensures production of employees are done accurately and precisely. Observes safety practices and maintains good housekeeping standards. Instructs and supervises machine operators, set-up personnel, material handlers, and Lead Floor Operator. Starts jobs; sets machine controls to required quality standards and tolerances. Maintains knowledge of materials to be used in each product. Troubleshoots equipment
must be able to determine and correct issues that arise.
Prepares production reports, set up, and cycle sheets and related documentation. Reports all equipment failures to Maintenance or Supervisor. Verifies that defects are properly identified and documented. Ensures that proper raw materials are being used per work order. Ensures material barrel and dryer are properly labeled with correct material and lot number. Communicates effectively with department managers. Performs line clearance produce. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees within the Production Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, licenses and registrations required: Computer skills required: IQMS, Excel, Word, Outlook, basic functions of HR Software system Other skills required: 5 years minimum in Plastics Manufacturing (Preferred). Communication Skills. Must be capable of set up and familiar with multiple types of machines. Ability to multitask. Full understanding of industry safety standards.
