Job Description

General Summary Coordinate the overall operation of the food service and housekeeping department with the various resident needs and cleaning services. Responsible for appropriate use of facility, supplies, equipment and minimize loss, waste, and fraud. Responsible for ensuring the clean environment of care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To foster the mission of St. Louis Center, a faith-based organization, in proclaiming the Gospel through the service of charity. Supervise and coordinate nutritional daily menu planning as well as daily food preparation. Staff scheduling. Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards. Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques. Prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders as well as food apportionment. Prepare food to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved. Complete food temperature checks before service. Store food properly and safely, marking date and item. Maintain daily records. Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledgeable in nutritional menu planning with specific individual dietary needs of residents. Ability to report for work in a timely and dependable manner. Must be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned. Ability to practice and maintain confidentiality. Ability to be a leader and team player. Ability to be self-motivated. Knowledge of special diets. Ability to maintain composure in a stressful environment. Ability to pass a drug test and physical Valid Driver's License with good driving record, able to operate a passenger van preferred.
Education Experience:
Associates degree or higher in Culinary Arts with emphasis on kitchen supervision or relevant experience. >>>>>
