About Us Birch Meadows Senior Care is a warm, home-like senior care community located in Three Rivers, Michigan. We believe that good food is more than nutrition — it's comfort, joy, and dignity for our residents. We are seeking a dedicated Chef / Kitchen Manager to join our team and bring leadership, creativity, consistency, and care to our dining program. Position Summary The Chef will oversee daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, meal preparation, and kitchen staff coordination. This role is ideal for someone with culinary training or strong food-service experience who values both excellence and compassion. Responsibilities- Plan and prepare nutritious, balanced, and appealing meals tailored to seniors' needs and preferences Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment (health codes, food safety, and sanitation) Order and manage inventory, while keeping within budget Coordinate kitchen schedules and supervise kitchen aides (if applicable) Accommodate special dietary needs (low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, soft/puréed diets, etc.) Build positive relationships with residents — engaging with them about food choices and feedback Qualifications- Culinary school training or significant professional cooking experience (healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant) Knowledge of nutrition and special diets preferred (senior care experience a plus) Strong organizational and leadership skills ServSafe or other food safety certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented Schedule & Benefits Daytime / early evening hours (no late-night restaurant shifts!)
