Highlights of your role: The Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor is responsible for the details of the day to day Food Service operation at LifeCare Medical Center. Supervises up to 30 employees in the production of attractive, nutritionally adequate meals according to facility policy and procedures, consistent with state and federal laws and regulations and accepted nutritional standards. Responsible for care and sanitation of institutional food service equipment and work areas used for preparation, storage and service. Pay Range:
$22.18-$31.06
• It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case and on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees. What you'll get to do in this role: Oversees the function of the Food Service Department at LifeCare Medical Center. Done in consultation with Director of Hospitality. Completes and maintains assigned Food and Nutrition Services records and forms. Monitors the performance of food service staff by observing staff performing duties in all work areas. Monitors staff for compliance with OSHA mandates on workplace safety including hazard communication and blood borne pathogens. Actively participates in the survey process by instructing staff in matters of conduct and disclosure, maintaining presence as requested at times of surveyors are on-site and directing the timely collection of information required by the survey team. Assists with Personnel functions including interviewing, conducting performance evaluations, and taking appropriate actions. Able to perform functions of cook or food service aide as needed. Provides resident care through menu planning and appropriate interdisciplinary activities. Assists R.D. with menu development that meets the nutritional needs of residents in accordance with recommended dietary allowances and state and federal regulations. Orders food economically and efficiently only from sources approved or considered satisfactory by federal, state or local authorities, maintaining sufficient inventory of supplies. Performs public service functions that meet the needs of the facility staff as well as market the department's ability to provide quality food. Maintains and promotes a safe and sanitary work environment. Maintaining proper dress code including good personal hygiene. You're an excellent fit, if you have: High School Diploma or GED Minium of two years of supervisory experience in food service. Demonstrated experience in food production, including planning, preparation, and meal service. Experience supervising staff, coordinating daily operations, and maintaining food safety and quality standards. Great Customer Service Skills Great Communication Skills Ability to work independently Confidential High School Diploma or GED Minium of two years of supervisory experience in food service.
