Food Pantry Program Supervisor
SUPERVISED BY
Director of Residential Services
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Food Pantry Program Supervisor is responsible for the daily management and oversight of HONOR's emergency food pantry program, ensuring compliance with all New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program (HPNAP) requirements, Nourish New York (NNY) program requirements, Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York/Food Bank of the Hudson Valley standards, food safety regulations, and agency policies and procedures. The Food Pantry Program Supervisor provides leadership and supervision to food pantry staff and volunteers and oversees food procurement, inventory management, emergency food distribution, reporting, data collection, community partnerships, outreach activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The position is responsible for maintaining a client-centered, trauma-informed, equitable, and accessible emergency food assistance program utilizing client-choice and other approved food distribution models while promoting food security and connection to community resources. This position requires flexibility in scheduling to support pantry operations. Pantry hours vary by day and may include:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday:
7:00 AM - 12:00
PM Wednesday and Thursday:
2:00 PM - 7:00 PM Additional hours may be required for food deliveries, inventory management, reporting deadlines, emergency food distributions, special events, inspections, and staff supervision and program coverage. The Food Pantry Program Supervisor is expected to provide direct operational support and program coverage when staffing shortages, emergencies, or other operational needs arise to ensure uninterrupted food pantry services.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION
(Not the Individuals Qualifications) 1. Associate Degree in Human Services, Public Health, Nutrition, Hospitality, Food Service Management, Social Services, or related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. 2. Minimum two years of experience in food pantry operations, food service, inventory management, warehouse operations, social services, or related field. Supervisory experience preferred. 3. Valid NYS Driver's license. 4. Working knowledge of
NYS DOH HPNAP
requirements. 5. Ability to collect, analyze, and report program data accurately. 6. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment. 7. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. 8. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties including bending, reaching, standing, loading, unloading, and stocking inventory. 9. ServSafe Certification preferred or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

$23.00 per hour
