Days with some flexibility for community needs About Our Community We are a small, close-knit Memory Care assisted living community where meals are more than food—they are comfort, connection, and routine. Our residents thrive on familiarity, dignity, and warm, home-style dining. We're looking for a compassionate leader who can bring consistency, creativity, and heart to our kitchen. Position Summary The Food Service Director oversees all aspects of our dining program, including meal preparation, menu planning, dietary compliance, kitchen operations, and staff coordination.
This role is hands-on:
you will cook daily meals, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and ensure every resident receives nutritious, appealing food served with patience and respect. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve home-style meals that meet resident preferences and dietary needs Plan menus that align with Memory Care best practices, including consistency and simplicity Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment Order food, manage inventory, and track budget-conscious purchasing Ensure compliance with state regulations, food safety standards, and assisted living guidelines Communicate with nursing and leadership regarding dietary changes, allergies, and resident needs Support special events, holidays, and community activities with thoughtful meal planning Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members Maintain accurate documentation, temperature logs, and sanitation records What We're Looking For Experience in Memory Care, Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, or similar setting preferred Strong cooking skills with the ability to prepare meals for a small community Knowledge of dietary restrictions, texture modifications, and dementia-friendly dining Reliable, organized, and able to work independently Compassionate communication and patience with residents living with dementia Ability to follow regulations, maintain documentation, and uphold safety standards ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Supportive, family-like work environment Consistent schedule Opportunities for training in dementia care and culinary best practices A meaningful role where your work directly impacts resident comfort and quality of life Join Our Team If you're a dedicated culinary professional who believes in serving with heart, consistency, and dignity, we'd love to meet you.
