Plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of the dietary department
Oversee food service activities and ensure compliance with food safety regulations
Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents or patients
Manage inventory and order food supplies as needed
Train and supervise dietary staff in food preparation and service
Monitor and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address dietary needs and restrictions of residents or patients
Ensure compliance with dietary regulations and guidelines
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a food service or dietary management role
Strong knowledge of food service operations, including food preparation, menu planning, and inventory management
Familiarity with dietary regulations and guidelines, such as those set by the FDA or USDA
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to effectively manage a team and coordinate multiple tasks
Skills:
Cooking skills: Ability to prepare meals that meet nutritional requirements and taste preferences
Management skills: Ability to oversee staff, delegate tasks, and ensure efficient operations
Food service experience: Knowledge of best practices in food service, including portion control, meal presentation, and customer service
Shift management: Ability to schedule staff, manage work shifts, and ensure adequate coverage
Restaurant management: Understanding of restaurant operations, including inventory management, cost control, and customer satisfaction
Food preparation: Proficiency in preparing meals according to dietary guidelines and restrictions
Dietary department knowledge: Familiarity with the functions and responsibilities of a dietary department in a healthcare or senior living setting
Food safety: Knowledge of proper food handling procedures, sanitation standards, and HACCP principles
