$15.00 per hour (Position is FWS Eligible)
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Conduct tours to prospective students and parents. 2. Assist at the Admissions front desk as needed, including answering phones and greeting customers. 3. Assemble packets for mailing as needed. 4. Alphabetizing and filing of admissions records. 5. Preparation of forms for scanning. 6. Assist in the maintenance and updating of student records. (high school transcripts and ACT scores) 7. Photocopy, scanning, and fax documents as requested. 8. Assist with the distribution of daily mail. 9. Deliver materials to internal departments as requested. 10. Assist in campus events organized by Admissions. Such as College Fair and Discover JJC. 11. Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Must maintain satisfactory academic progress (minimum 2.0 GPA, not on academic probation, and in good standing at JJC). 2. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits hours at JJC during fall/spring semester. 3. Maintain Confidentiality of student information 4. Self-motivated 5. Dependable 6. Basic computer and data entry experience and knowledge helpful. 7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Strong Public Speaking Skills 2. Strong Customer Services Skills 3. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency. 4. Demonstrated multicultural competence.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Normal office physical demands.
  • Must be able to lead walking tours across main campus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Duties are performed indoors in the usual office environment, with participation in off-campus activities as needed.
  • May work up to 20 hours per school week and additional hours during the summer if office budget allows.
  • Will include occasional weekend hours for campus events and may include regular evening hours.
Scheduled Weekly Hours:
This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks (Winter/Spring), may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
