The Broz Event Venue

Wedding Venue Tour Guide and Sales (Part-Time)

Job Description

Get paid to show people some of the most historical and unique event spaces in southern Minnesota. We own two historic wedding venues and we are looking for one person to give tours at both of them and help couples book their wedding day with us.
THE TWO LOCATIONS, AND YES, YOU WORK AT BOTH
The Broz Event Venue, 212 Main Street West, New Prague, MN The 3 Ten Event Venue, 310 Central Avenue North, Faribault, MN The two buildings are about 30 minutes apart. You would work about one day a week at each one, so you need a reliable car and you need to be genuinely fine with that drive. Please do not apply if you only want to work at one location.
THE SCHEDULE
Five to fifteen hours a week, usually split across two days. One weekday, typically Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, in the evening, roughly 5:00 to 9:00 PM. One weekend day, Saturday or Sunday, roughly 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Days and hours move around depending on when couples book their tours, and we can be flexible with you. Some weeks are lighter and some are busier, especially in spring and fall.
WHAT YOU WOULD ACTUALLY BE DOING
This is a sales job. It is also the fun kind of sales job. Nobody is cold calling anybody. Engaged couples find us, ask for pricing, and schedule a tour. Tours run about an hour. You walk the couple through every space, indoors and out, and talk them through how their wedding day would flow from getting ready to last call. Then you sit down together, go through pricing, and write out a quote covering every dollar so there are no surprises. After the tour, you stay with them. You send a real follow-up email that mentions their guest count and their date and the room they lit up in, not a form letter. You keep in touch while they decide. When they say yes, you hand them off to our team to get the contract signed.
THE TWO BUILDINGS
The Broz is an 1898 building in downtown New Prague designed by Cass Gilbert, the architect who did the Minnesota State Capitol. It has a grand ballroom, a brick lounge, a Prohibition-era speakeasy in the basement, and an eight-room boutique hotel upstairs so the whole wedding party can stay the night. The 3 Ten is a 25,000 square foot 1895 industrial building in downtown Faribault with a ballroom that holds 430, a rooftop loft with an open-air patio, and an alley patio. They are not barns. People walk in and stop talking for a second.
WHAT YOU GET PAID
$20.00 per hour for tour time, follow-up, and training. Plus $100 commission for every wedding that books after a tour you gave. There are also bonus opportunities on top of that, based on your booking rate and the number of weddings you book. Between the hourly and the commission, a typical month runs somewhere around $600 to $1,500 depending on your hours and how many couples say yes.
ROOM TO GROW
If you like the wedding side of this work, there is more of it here for you. Several people on our team also work events as day-of coordinators and bartenders, and we would rather promote someone who already knows our buildings than hire a stranger. If you want to expand into that, say so and we will train you.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Sales experience. You have sold something before, in any setting, and you are comfortable asking someone to commit. A real love for weddings and events. This is not a job you can fake your way through. Couples can tell. You like people and people like you. A bride should feel comfortable with you inside two minutes. You can ask for the sale. At the end of an hour together, you are able to say "so, do you want to lock in October 10th?" without freezing up. You are reliable. Tours get booked days in advance and couples drive an hour to get here. If you say you will be there at 5:45, you are there at 5:30. A valid driver's license and a reliable car, and a willingness to work at both New Prague and Faribault, about one day a week at each. We will train you on both buildings, our pricing, and how we run a tour. You do not need a degree or a wedding industry background.
ABOUT US
We host weddings that couples put together their own way. Some lean on us for nearly everything, some do it themselves, and most land somewhere in the middle. Our job is to make either one easy.
TO APPLY
Send your resume through Indeed. In the message box, answer one question: tell us about a time you talked someone into something. Any story, work or not. We read every one of these and it is the main thing we look at. We are an equal opportunity employer.
