Agapé rests on 624 acres of beautiful wooded rolling hills and valleys on the Cape Fear River. Agapé can accommodate up to 90 overnight guests during the summer. The site includes two retreat facilities, a dining hall, family campground, small lake, pool, nature center, group challenge course, several outdoor worship areas, miles of hiking trails, and recreational fields. SUMMER STAFF POSITIONS

Contract Period:

June 7-August 10; 2-week staff training period from June 7-19 (Team Leaders begin June 2; T.L. training June 2-5)

COUNSELOR

Counselors work closely and intentionally with small groups of 4-8 campers each week. They are positive Christian role models who build relationships with and among their campers, affirm their self-value, and have fun with them. They lead Bible study, worship, campfire, team-building, music, and other spiritual/recreational activities. They may work in programs onsite or off-site (Day Camps). Minimum 19 years of age and/or 1 year of college or work experience.

Base weekly salary:

$355.00.

SUPPORT STAFF

The Support Staff work in a variety of ways to keep everything moving at camp. They work as kitchen staff, helping to prep meals and clean up afterwards, while also interacting with campers at various activities throughout the day. Each Support Staff member has a particular role/activity that they specialize in throughout the summer (Archery Instructor, Craft Specialist, Kitchen Assistant, Lifeguard, Packout Coordinator, Photographer, Store Manager). Minimum 16 years of age.

Base weekly salary:

$345.00 TEAM LEADER (Program) Program Team Leaders support and supervise a team of 2-5 counselors each week. They are a resource for counselors, communicating reliably and effectively, modeling expectations for staff responsibilities and behaviors, providing both affirming and constructive feedback/coaching, and having good problem-solving and conflict-management skills. They facilitate the planning and scheduling for their assigned program, either onsite or on Day Camp, and prepare materials for various activities as needed. Minimum 21 years of age.

Base weekly salary:

$370.00 TEAM LEADER (Support Staff) The Support Staff Team Leader supports and supervises the Support Staff throughout the entire summer. They are a resource for Support Staff, communicating reliably and effectively, modeling expectations for staff responsibilities and behaviors, providing both affirming and constructive feedback/coaching, and having good problem-solving and conflict-management skills. They facilitate the planning and scheduling of all Support Staff responsibilities, including kitchen, cleaning, and role-specific duties. Minimum 21 years of age.
