Job Description

Job Overview Join our team as a Tour Guide!!! We have two groups of Japanese students coming here for exchanges the 7-14 and 9-22 of September. If you know some Japanese or would like to get to know more of the Japanese culture we would love to have you. The 7-14 group does not need a japanese speaker. 7-14 will be going to a few national parks and will need guiding through them. The schedule is roughly 9-5 with Saturday off. We will show you how to do it and what would work. 9-22 is here to study The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They will mostly be staying here in Saint George and a Japanese speaker is preferred. If you have served a mission for the church in Japan that would be awesome. Responsibilities Lead guided tours for groups of varying sizes, ensuring safety and enjoyment at all times Share engaging stories, historical facts, and cultural insights to enrich guest experiences Manage tour group logistics, including timing, route adherence, and guest engagement strategies Build rapport with guests through personalized interactions and attentive customer service Ensure outdoor safety protocols are followed; conduct wilderness safety checks when applicable Respond promptly to guest inquiries and provide clear, enthusiastic explanations of tour features Maintain accurate records of tour activities, guest feedback, and safety incidents as needed Skills Multilingual or bilingual abilities to communicate effectively with diverse audiences Strong leadership skills to guide groups confidently and manage tour dynamics Excellent public speaking and presentation skills that captivate audiences Proven experience in tour guiding or outdoor work environments with a focus on storytelling techniques Proficiency in foreign languages is a valuable asset for engaging international guests Exceptional customer service skills to create welcoming and memorable experiences Knowledge of wilderness safety practices; CPR and first aid certifications are highly desirable Effective time management to ensure smooth tour flow and punctuality Outstanding communication skills for clear instructions and guest rapport building Demonstrated ability to handle outdoor work conditions comfortably and safely Embark on a rewarding journey where your passion for exploration meets your talent for storytelling!
