We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help elevate the guest experience at our restaurant and wine bar. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic server to join our team. As a Server at Farmstead, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable. You will work in a fast-paced environment in both the restaurant and wine bar, assisting guests with menu selections, taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.

Responsibilities:

Greet and seat guests in a friendly, professional manner Maintain in-depth knowledge of the restaurant's menu and wine list, including any daily or seasonal offerings Provide exceptional service by promptly taking food and beverage orders and answering menu questions Offer recommendations, including upselling wine, cocktails and beverage options Maintain a polished appearance and positive attitude Deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately Ensure guest satisfaction by checking in regularly and addressing any concerns Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including resetting tables and refilling drinks Perform opening and closing procedures, as well as assigned side work Communicate effectively with the kitchen, expediter and other staff members to ensure seamless service Collaborate with Chefs to manage special requests, allergies and dietary restrictions Operate the POS system efficiently including orders and payments Uphold Farmstead's high standards of hospitality, food quality, and presentation Adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines

Education, Experience and Required Skills:

Previous experience as a server in a fine-dining or fast-paced environment required Ability to learn and execute point of sale computer software procedures Food Handler's certification Must possess a valid California RBS Certification at the time of interview, applicants without a current certification will not be considered Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to upsell menu items with sincerity and confidence Ability to multitask and work well under pressure Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality service Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Must be at least 18 years of age Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with unexpected situations Must be able to lift, balance, and carry plates of food Must be able to lift cases of wine on a daily basis Must be able to use both hands to handle, grasp, move and control objects, tools and equipment operations Must be able to bend or twist body Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Compensation and Benefits Part-time hourly position

Compensation:

$16.90 per hour plus tips Retirement Savings (401k) includes generous company matching
