Duties Serve meals and beverages to residents with professionalism, kindness, and attention to dietary needs Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas following food safety protocols such as JCAHO standards Support dietary department operations by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to workplace safety regulations including PPE use and manual handling practices Help with inventory management by monitoring supplies, storing food properly, and reporting shortages or issues promptly Work collaboratively with nursing staff to accommodate special diets and assist with feeding residents when needed Skills Previous assisted living or nursing home experience is highly preferred, along with food industry or culinary background Strong understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and safe lifting techniques for heavy loads Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of nutrition principles and ability to adhere to specific dietary requirements for geriatric patients Effective communication skills for working with residents, team members, and healthcare staff Basic math skills for portion control, inventory tracking, and meal planning CPR certification is a plus; willingness to obtain required certifications related to workplace safety and food handling Join us in creating a caring community where every meal is an opportunity to serve with joy!
