Duties Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently using reservation systems like OpenTable or similar platforms. Escort guests to their tables, ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable from the moment they step in. Clear and reset tables promptly by bussing dishes, glassware, and silverware while maintaining cleanliness standards through dishwashing and surface cleaning. Assist food runners by delivering dishes from the kitchen to tables swiftly and accurately, ensuring proper food handling and presentation. Support servers with order taking using POS systems such as Aloha or Micros, including handling cash transactions and processing payments accurately. Maintain cleanliness throughout the dining area, including sweeping floors, wiping down surfaces, and ensuring restrooms are tidy and stocked. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to relay special requests or dietary accommodations, demonstrating excellent in-person customer service and phone etiquette. Experience Previous experience in food service or hospitality roles such as host/hostess, busser, or food runner is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Familiarity with restaurant POS systems like Aloha or Micros enhances efficiency in order processing and cashiering tasks. Strong communication skills to interact positively with guests and team members in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately. Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling procedures, and dishwashing techniques to ensure a hygienic environment.
