Job Description

AVIATOR SUPERHOST
Guest Experience & Floor Operations Position Summary The Aviator Superhost is responsible for making sure every guest feels welcomed, taken care of, and wants to come back. This position stays on the floor, interacts with customers, keeps servers and bartenders focused on service and side work, solves guest problems quickly, keeps the restaurant and bar clean and organized, and makes sure the building is secure at closing. This is a hands-on guest-facing leadership position , not an administrative management role. The Superhost is not responsible for payroll, scheduling, liquor ordering, tip-out, bookkeeping, or office work . Core Responsibilities Greet guests as they arrive and make them feel welcome. Walk the restaurant and bar throughout the shift and check on customers . Ask guests how their food, drinks, and service are going. Identify problems before the customer has to hunt down a manager . Resolve reasonable customer complaints immediately. Help servers and bartenders recover unhappy tables. Know when to comp, replace, remake, or escalate an issue to management. Keep an eye on ticket times, dirty tables, empty glasses, unattended guests, and other service problems. Make sure servers and bartenders are completing their side work and cleaning responsibilities . Keep dining areas, bar areas, bathrooms, entrances, patios, and guest-facing areas looking good throughout the shift. Make sure dirty dishes, trash, glassware, menus, chairs, and tables do not pile up. Jump in where needed when the restaurant gets slammed. Help seat guests, run food, clear tables, find a server, grab drinks, or solve bottlenecks when necessary. Make sure staff stays productive during slower periods instead of standing around. Communicate problems with the kitchen, bar, servers, or maintenance so issues get handled quickly. Keep the atmosphere friendly, professional, and energetic. At closing, verify guests have left, staff duties are complete, doors are locked, appropriate lights/equipment are secured, and the building is properly closed. What This Job Is NOT The Superhost does not : Make the employee schedule Run payroll Enter payroll or HR information Calculate tip-out Order liquor, beer, food, or supplies Handle bookkeeping Sit in an office doing paperwork Spend the shift staring at a computer The Superhost belongs on the floor with the customers and employees. What Success Looks Like A great Superhost notices the table that has been sitting without drinks, the bathroom that needs attention, the bartender getting buried, the server who hasn't done side work, and the guest who doesn't look happy before somebody complains . Customers should feel like someone is watching out for them . Employees should know there is someone on the floor who will help when things get busy, but will also make sure the work gets done. The restaurant should stay clean, welcoming, organized, and under control from open to close . Ideal Person We're looking for someone who: Loves talking to people Is naturally friendly and outgoing Notices details Doesn't mind cleaning or jumping in Can politely tell employees what needs to get done Can calm down an upset customer Makes decisions without freezing up Has common sense Moves around instead of sitting around Takes ownership of the building Understands that the customer experience is the job I'd also give this person a very simple operating rule: See it. Own it. Fix it. That's basically the whole position in six words.
