The Role As a Server at Lumos, you'll be responsible for providing attentive, friendly service to guests dining at Ember's Grill & Social Bar and throughout designated areas of the venue. Our servers aren't expected to simply take orders and drop off food. You'll help guide the guest experience—from welcoming tables and answering menu questions to keeping drinks filled, communicating with the kitchen and bar, and making sure guests have what they need throughout their visit. Because Lumos is an entertainment venue, every shift can look a little different. You may serve a family grabbing dinner before bowling, a group celebrating a birthday, guests watching a game at the Social Bar, or a large party enjoying a night out. What You'll Do Greet guests promptly and create a friendly, welcoming experience Take accurate food and beverage orders Enter orders correctly into the POS system Deliver food and beverages efficiently and professionally Maintain knowledge of our food, beverage, and promotional offerings Make menu recommendations and answer guest questions Check on guests throughout their experience and anticipate their needs Pre-bus and maintain clean, organized tables and service areas Process guest payments accurately Work closely with bartenders, kitchen staff, hosts, bussers, and other team members Communicate guest concerns or service issues to a manager when necessary Assist with large groups, parties, and special events as needed Follow all alcohol service, food safety, and responsible service requirements Help maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant and guest areas Complete opening, running, and closing side work Support teammates during busy periods rather than focusing only on your assigned section Help create the energetic, guest-focused atmosphere Lumos is known for What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Has a positive, outgoing personality Is comfortable talking with guests and providing recommendations Can stay organized while handling multiple tables and priorities Works well in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Communicates clearly with both guests and teammates Is dependable and arrives ready to work Takes ownership when something goes wrong rather than ignoring it Understands that teamwork is essential to great service Can remain professional and composed during busy periods Is comfortable standing and walking for extended periods Can safely carry food, beverages, trays, and other restaurant items Is available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Previous serving or restaurant experience is preferred, but we're willing to train the right person with a strong attitude, work ethic, and personality.
