Being an energetic TEAM player with a lot of enthusiasm and a passion for making people happy are keys to success in this position. Some knowledge of food, wine, cocktails and beer is a definite plus, but the desire to learn more about wine and cocktails, and grow in this position is just as important! Job Responsibilities Provide efficient and friendly service to guests seated at a combination of outdoor tables on our 70 seat Patio and 45 seat Rooftop Lounge (Seasonal), indoor lounge seating areas and VIP Room tables, following all steps of service to include bussing tables and running food orders in order to create a positive guest experience Accurately record and account for all items ordered, process payments, and balance all sales/receipts in compliance with Helix policies and procedures Availability to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends Safely and effectively deliver food or beverages to a table of 4 in one trip Safely and effectively operate all necessary tools and equipment Ability to communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements, whether by written instructions or spoken directions. Ability to calmly and effectively multitask in a fast-based, busy environment Use of good judgment when dealing with challenging guest interactions, and respond to guest needs with patience and kindness Understand our drinks and food menus, and be capable of answering questions regarding menu items Proficiency in the use of our POS System, and Credit Card terminals Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines to keep Helix a healthy space Ability to recognize when a guest is intoxicated, and refuse to over-serve intoxicated guests, using a tactful and empathetic communication style, and notify management of any concerns regarding a guest who appears to be intoxicated Follow all company rules, policies and conditions of employment, as outlined in the Helix Employee Handbook Work well with others in order to help Team Helix thrive Qualifications and Skills 1 year of experience in this same role is required High school diploma or GED Excellent interpersonal skills Strong communication skills A positive and friendly attitude towards guests and co-workers Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds frequently, move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and /or lift up to 60 pounds (with reasonable accommodations, such as a hand truck) Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the establishment, which may include stairs and slick surfaces Available to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends Compensation Starting base wage is $7.25/hour plus tips .
