On-Site - Itasca, IL Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Intake and Reimbursement Support Specialist to join our pharmacy operations team. In this role, you will support the Reimbursement Manager with patient intake, insurance benefits investigations, prior authorizations, and coverage exceptions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on specialty pharmacy experience and a strong understanding of insurance coverage and reimbursement processes. We are looking for someone who can independently perform benefits investigations and manage prior authorization requests with minimal training. Key Responsibilities Process new patient referrals and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records. Independently conduct pharmacy and medical benefits investigations to determine insurance coverage and patient benefits. Communicate directly with insurance payers to verify benefits, confirm coverage, and resolve reimbursement-related issues. Initiate, submit, track, and follow up on prior authorization requests to ensure timely processing. Prepare supporting documentation for coverage exceptions and appeals for management review. Maintain accurate documentation of patient cases, payer communications, and authorization statuses. Follow up on outstanding requests and work to resolve delays in patient access to therapy. Collaborate with the Reimbursement Manager and internal team members to ensure efficient patient intake and reimbursement processes. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year of hands-on specialty pharmacy experience. Demonstrated experience independently performing pharmacy and medical benefits investigations and processing prior authorizations. Strong understanding of health insurance benefits, coverage requirements, payer processes, and reimbursement procedures. Experience communicating directly with insurance companies to resolve coverage and authorization issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance payer portals. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and accurate data entry. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple patient cases, prioritize tasks, and consistently follow through on outstanding requests. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Experience preparing coverage exceptions and appeals. Familiarity with CareTend, Waystar, or Availity. Experience working with specialty pharmacy patient support or hub services. Additional Information Full-time position, 40 hours per week, during pharmacy operating hours. This is an on-site position in Itasca, Illinois. HIPAA and cybersecurity training are required. Employment is subject to background screening. Pay:

$60,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year
