Job Summary:
The Benefits Administrator works with the Director of Human Resources & Administration to aid in facilitating the human resource benefits program processes at all business locations. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Administration Aid in the administration of the HRIS system, including benefits enrollments, staff status and payroll changes, eligibility changes, and offboarding Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information Assist with new-hire orientations and benefits information distribution and meetings Perform quality checks of benefits-related data Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA Responds to 403b inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts Assist CFO and Director of Human Resources with annual ERISA audit Respond to unemployment claims and attend hearings as needed Respond to and process workers' compensation claims, working with both the employee and the workers' compensation insurance company Assists with the open enrollment process Administers the tuition reimbursement program Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions Perform customer service functions by answering employees' benefits requests and questions Process termination of benefits Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by the VP of HR Make photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions File benefits documents into appropriate employee physical as well as digital files Assist or prepare correspondence as requested Processes mail regarding benefits Performs other related duties as assigned Legal & Compliance Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law Assists with employee benefits audits to ensure various legal and accreditation compliance standards Submit online investigation requests regarding workers' compensation and unemployment claims Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities Qualifications & Preferred Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems At least two years related experience preferred Compensation & Benefits Compensation commensurate with experience Comprehensive benefits package including: o Competitive health plan o Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) with generous employer contribution o Life insurance and long-term disability provided at no cost to employee o Voluntary life and short-term disability options available o 403(b) retirement plan with up to a 6% employer match o Flexible Spending Account with medical expense and dependent care options o Employee Assistance Program o Generous paid time off and holidays FosterAdopt Connect does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender identity, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its programs or services.
