•This is an oncall position

•The University of New Mexico's Office of Compliance, Ethics, and Equal Opportunity (CEEO) seeks an on-call Compliance Specialist , highly experienced in conducting neutral, compliant, and efficient investigations in civil rights reports, including Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties and Responsibilities Determining, gathering, and analyzing evidentiary information necessary to evaluate compliance issues. Conducting unbiased investigations of allegations of civil rights discrimination and preparing investigative reports including conclusions based on findings. Creating, developing, and delivering a range of promotional, educational, and informational programs, workshops, and resource materials related to program activities and initiatives. Interpreting, analyzing, and advising on the application of EEO and Affirmative Action laws and regulations in an employment and academic setting in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines, and UNM policies and procedures. The selected candidate must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, team player, and must be able to multi-task and handle confidential material in a professional manner. CEEO is an internal compliance office that provides services to students, staff, and faculty. See the Position Description for additional information. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree + 5+ years of direct experience related to the position Legal knowledge including paralegal or JD course work. Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret, analyze, and advise on the application of EEO and civil rights policies and regulations in employment and academic settings. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, and civil rights work. Experience investigating concerns related to discrimination, retaliation, failure to accommodate, Title IX, sexual harassment, or sexual assault. Ability to handle multiple tasks with time-sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision. Bilingual (English/Spanish)

$28.84 - $35.00 Benefits Eligible This is a benefits eligible position.
