This is an entry-level, developmental HR position and a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who is interested in building a career in Human Resources. Working under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR Assistant's primary responsibilities include maintaining employee records and HR-system information, coordinating onboarding and offboarding documentation, supporting timekeeping and payroll information flow, and tracking benefits, leave, training, and policy documentation. The position also provides administrative support for recruitment, employee communications, and other HR processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, comfortable working with employees at all levels, and able to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. What You'll Do Maintain accurate personnel files, employee records, and HR-system information. Process and maintain documentation related to new hires, terminations, employee status changes, compensation changes, and other employment updates. Prepare and maintain onboarding and offboarding documentation, checklists, and records. Coordinate administrative onboarding requirements with managers and other departments. Support recruitment by coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates and hiring managers, maintaining applicant records, and assisting with offer and pre-employment documentation. Support timekeeping and payroll processes by collecting, reviewing for completeness, and organizing required employee and timekeeping information. Maintain records of employee status, pay, and scheduling changes affecting payroll. Assist with benefits enrollment, employee changes, terminations, and related recordkeeping. Maintain leave documentation, track established deadlines, and provide administrative follow-up. Assist employees with routine HR questions, forms, benefits information, and administrative requests. Schedule and track required employee training and maintain training and policy acknowledgment records. Support the distribution and tracking of employee notices, policies, and HR communications. Prepare routine HR forms, letters, reports, trackers, and other documentation. Support HR audits, compliance tracking, employee programs, and department projects. Maintain confidentiality and appropriately escalate employee concerns or other sensitive matters to the HR Manager. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable interacting with employees at different levels of the organization. Ability to manage multiple assignments, follow established processes, and meet deadlines. Basic proficiency with email, spreadsheets, documents, and electronic systems. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and willingness to learn. Ability to maintain detailed records and consistently follow through on administrative responsibilities and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. At least one year of administrative, office, customer service, payroll, recruiting, or HR support experience. Experience in manufacturing, food production, hospitality, retail, or a similar environment. Experience with HRIS, payroll, scheduling, or timekeeping systems. Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred, due to regular communication with employees in both languages. Pay:
$24.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
