Description Tahoe Donner Association is looking for an Human Resources Assistant to join our team! The HR assistant provides administrative and operational support to the HR department, assisting with tasks involving recruitment, onboarding, employee record maintenance, and employee transactions, all while ensuring quality service to employees and compliance with HR policies and procedures. This position reports to the Human Resources Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide excellent customer service to employees, members, guests, and business partners. Assist in the processing of employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, personnel changes, and termination date and reason in the HRIS system. Supporting recruiting functions during seasonal onboarding by sending offer letters, hiring information to candidates, and coordinating pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug tests, E-Verify, etc for compliance purposes. Assist with onboarding sessions and collaborate with departments with facilitation of orientation events. Coordinate new hire, rehire, transfer, and separation processes, including completion and maintenance of required employment documentation such as I9 identification and Motor Vehicle Records (MVR). Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information to authorized persons, including employment verifications, EDD requests, and other employment-related inquiries. Update, organize, and upload documents into HRIS as needed. Provide general administrative and clerical support to the HR department, such as answering phone calls, managing the shared department inbox, and document maintenance. May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, and distributing checks. Assist with employee events, including recognition and other department-sponsored events. Other duties as assigned by Human Resources Supervisor, Human Resources Manager, and/or senior management. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Minimum one year of administrative/customer service experience. Bilingual preferred, but not required. These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent and six months to one-year relevant training; An associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.
