Job Summary Serving and caring for employees plays an important role in our family-owned business. Our Human Resources Department is committed to creating a positive and supportive environment in which employees can thrive. The Human Resources Payroll & Compliance Coordinator will work closely with the Human Resources Manager and HR staff to support payroll processing, employee onboarding, benefits administration, recordkeeping, regulatory compliance, and other human resources functions. This position requires accuracy, discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to meet recurring deadlines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain the highest level of confidentiality when handling employee, payroll, medical, and other sensitive information. Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding onboarding, payroll, benefits, and general HR matters. Review timekeeping records for accuracy and compliance with wage-and-hour laws and company policies. Assist with payroll preparation and ensure required information is complete, accurate, and submitted on time. Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance records. Enter, review, and maintain employee information across multiple HR and payroll systems. Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and periodic reports. Reconcile and balance payroll-related reports and identify discrepancies requiring correction. Assist with the administration of HR programs, policies, and procedures that support a positive employee experience. Manage job postings and assist with maintaining current job descriptions. Support compliance with applicable federal and state requirements, including FMLA, EEO, DOT, OSHA, wage-and-hour, and other recordkeeping obligations as assigned. Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Perform all responsibilities in accordance with applicable laws and company policies. Education and Experience Candidates should possess one of the following: A bachelor's degree, or substantial progress toward completing a bachelor's degree, in Human Resource Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; or At least two years of relevant experience in payroll, human resources, accounting, benefits administration, or a similar position. Skills and Qualifications Demonstrated discretion and understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience using payroll or HR information systems. Experience with Paylocity or UKG Ready is preferred but not required. Ability to learn new software and systems quickly. Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills. Ability to reconcile data and balance detailed reports. Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting weekly deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
