Full-Time Human Resource Assistant Access of the Red River Valley - 3.9 Moorhead, MN Job Details Full-time 6 hours ago Qualifications Confidential information handling Process improvement Employee relationship building Driver's License Computer skills Associate's degree Payroll record maintenance Full Job Description SUMMARY The Human Resource Assistant will be responsible for assisting the HR Director in carrying out various human resource duties and ensuring a successful Human Resource department. The Human Resource Assistant will be responsible for agency recruitment (excluding professional staff level positions) and retention, assist with implementation of policies and procedures, payroll entry, and maintenance of all HR personnel records. This individual is required to maintain confidentiality in daily operations and conduct duties in a professional manner and appearance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
This position requires an associate's degree in human resources or a related degree with a minimum of two years experience in the Human Resource field. Employment is contingent upon providing evidence of a degree in a related field and clear background checks.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires an overall understanding of Human Resource's roles and functions.
The following skills are required:
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity required. Ability to work with limited supervision and is highly self motivated Works well as a team, dependable, reliable, and takes pride in work. Ability to prioritize work and is detail oriented Excellent organizational skills and initiative to improve processes. Strong computer skills as well as knowledge of/or experience with payroll processes. Possesses ability to analyze complex information and problem solve.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate recruitment and retention programs Responsible for the interviewing, selection and training of new direct care staff Manage and track applicant flow, maintain job postings internally and externally, and participate in all aspects of the recruiting process Responsible for the on-boarding process of new hires which includes but is not limited to: Processing all background checks and conducting new employee orientation. Facilitate communication through regular contact with directors, departments, employees, & outside agencies Accurately maintain department and agency records (including employee personnel files) Instruct and train staff in CPR & First Aid as well as documenting the training Provide HR reports as required by HR Director Attend meetings as required by department and agency (ex: weekly scheduling meetings) Support HR Director in any and all HR functions as assigned Assisting in making sure the agency is in compliance with federal and state laws Assist HR Director with maintaining affirmative action program, maintaining EEO records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations Provide back-up to the receptionist as needed Responsible for all other duties as assigned Training Requirements Responsible for ensuring professional development, which is specific to the role and responsibilities of the HR Assistant, is complimentary to the agency's purposes, and is of special or needed benefit to the individual's career. Team Supports and participates in common teamwork; cooperates and works together with supervisors and co-workers Uses tactful, appropriate communication in sensitive and emotional situations Follows up with supervisor as appropriate regarding concerns and complaints Promotes positive relations among agency employees Maintains confidentiality relating to all agency related data and matters Shall be capable of relating to individuals at various levels; as unique situations present themselves; the incumbent must be sensitive to agency needs, employee goodwill and public image
JOB PHYSICAL DESCRIPTIONS
Work environment conditions are indoor office work. This position requires to sit at a desk and write or use computer and speak on telephone. The setting is normal office sounds (i.e.: phones ringing, printers, conversations and intercom) with varying indoor climates. Shall meet the following required physical demands of this position: Stand, walk, run, climb stairs, sit, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, taste, smell. Some transferring or lifting of objects (1lb to 10 lbs) may be required. Close and distant vision is required. Shall provide evidence of current driver's license and current auto insurance. Additionally, background checks and motor vehicle records are reviewed at the start of employment and yearly thereafter.
